I am a wood sculptor, working in organic forms and with mythic/folkloric subjects. I’m also a maker for theatre, a performer, and a musician. I graduated in Illustration from Edinburgh College of Art in 2012. I’ve since worked in a range of media and creative spheres, but since 2018 have specialised in wood sculpture. I draw from the fluid forms of the landscape and from traditional craft, making objects which take on the role of gentle household spirits. I explore how our relationship to tradition and myth can be applicable to the present day, and how theatre can integrate with specific landscapes. My theatre work has included prop and set making for Vision Mechanics’ acclaimed The Fantastic Life of Minnie Rubinski. I have long performed with, and produced works for, the community ritual theatre of Beltane Fire Society, as a volunteer and as 2023’s artist in residence.
