Sci-Fi Swamp

Sophia West is a light and land artist. Her passions are moving laser light into trees, projecting visuals onto bark and creating moving 3D patterns. They have a strong Sci-Fi and story-telling element to them.
Her beginning point is music, hears the music, draws the pattern and then projects them into nature, where synesthesia plays a large role in all of her creations.
Colour, light, shape and rhythm intertwined so the audience can feel sound, see sound and be in the moment.

Aliens have landed! Their spaceships have landed in the Kelburn pond where it is dark, watery and just far enough away from us humans.
However, they do want to communicate and so they spill out colour, laser light and shapes in reaction to any music and dancing near by.
A retro futuristic sculpture depicting an earlier era where sci-if was a “look”. Sci-Fi Swamp wants to remind you of robots and spaceships, Back to The Future 2 meets Star Trek, Tetris meets Close Encounter. A Sci-fi blast from the past.
